Litigation lawyer – deceased estates

Litigation lawyer – deceased estates

Are you a skilled lawyer with experience in deceased estate litigation? Join our expert team in solving challenging estate disputes with practical, forward-thinking solutions.

About us

At Curae Law, our mission is simple: We exist to help people simplify and solve legal problems.

We empower our clients to understand their legal problems, the options available to them and to make good decisions; and then to solve them, so they can move on with their lives. We do this through delivering practical, customer-focused services at incredibly high standards.

We are seeking Succession Lawyers who are passionate about helping individuals plan for the future, navigate estate matters, and provide thoughtful legal guidance with care and expertise.

The role

The work in these positions is varied and complex, crossing over into many other areas including property, company, debt collection, superannuation disputes and SAT guardianship/administration matters. (If you’ve seen Fisk, you’ll know what we are talking about!).

Our preference is for an experienced lawyer who can hit the ground running and manage their own matters from the outset.  We are willing to tailor the role to suit the strengths and career aspirations of the successful candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • represent clients in deceased estate litigation matters, including inheritance disputes, family provision claims and superannuation death benefit disputes;
  • provide legal advice and guidance to clients, helping them understand their rights and options;
  • pragmatic strategy development;
  • managing all aspects of litigation matters, including gathering evidence, preparation of pleadings and court appearances;
  • conduct legal research to support cases and stay up-to-date with developments in the deceased estate litigation field;
  • prepare and attend mediations, directions hearings and trials; and
  • contributing to business development and software enhancement.

This position is open to full-time and part-time applicants and will be based in our office in the Perth CBD.

About you

We’re looking for a capable and self-motivated lawyer who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working with clients on succession-related matters. The ideal candidate will:

  1. have a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to deceased estate litigation and be committed to a career as a lawyer in litigation or deceased estate matters;
  2. have a proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously;
  3. demonstrate a track record of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client satisfaction;
  4. share our mission to simplify and solve legal problems;
  5. embrace our core values: be kind, do things differently, and strive for excellence.

Applicants with at least 2 years pre or post admission experience in succession law (contentious or non-contentious) will be highly regarded.
